Jonathan B. GREEN

Founding Chair of the Board

Jonathan Green is a co-founder, past-Chairman and current member of the Board of Directors of the Belmont Media Center. He is also the past Chair and current member of the Town of Belmont’s Information Technology Advisory Committee, and its Cable Television Advisory Committee.

Outside of local civic affairs, Jonathan Green is co-founder and a Managing Director of Arcadia Funds, LLC, an investment firm focused on insurance-linked securities.

Jonathan also serves on the Board of Directors of CommonAngels, Inc., a Boston-based investment group focused on early stage technology companies.  Additionally, as an active member of CommonAngels’ screening committee, he helps assess the business and technology risks of promising new start-ups.
Jonathan is also Chairman of inStream Media, Inc., a rapidly growing technology and services company providing an advertising network for cross-channel, in-store promotions delivered at the point-of-sale.  
Additionally, Jonathan serves as Chairman of the Board of Cambria Pharmaceuticals, Inc., an early-stage drug discovery company developing leading edge therapeutics for ALS (“Lou Gehrig's disease”).
As an advisor and strategy consultant to emerging technology companies and their CEOs, Jonathan is also an active mentor to aspiring entrepreneurs with MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service.

Jonathan also serves on the North American Executive Board, an advisory body to the Dean at MIT’s Sloan School of Management; and also on the Board of Overseers of WGBH (television, radio and the web).


Previously, Jonathan was CEO and Chairman of HighPoint Systems, Inc., a market leading, venture-backed, e-commerce infrastructure software company that he founded in 1993.  HighPoint was internationally known for its innovations in consumer appliances for e-commerce, as well as its web-based enterprise software.

Prior to HighPoint, Jonathan spent ten years developing technologies for advanced electronics at MIT Lincoln Laboratory (Lexington, MA). He has been recognized internationally for his research utilizing new technologies to address specific needs of advanced radar and communications systems.
Jonathan holds six patents; his more than forty publications include two book chapters and various meeting speeches, covering the diverse areas of solid-state electronics, signal processing, and enterprise software and computer systems for e-commerce.

Jonathan has been awarded both the Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Applied Physics from Stanford University, as well as the S.B. degree in Physics from MIT. Rounding out Jonathan’s real-world business experiences, he also holds an M.S. degree from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
Other current projects involve utility-scale wind power in southeastern Massachusetts, and overseeing the development of the meeting scheduler at setmeeting.com


Jonathan’s leisure‑time interests involve his family (with dog), travel, golf, high‑end audio and video systems, home automation, and a 1929 Model A Ford.
