HOMETOWN VIDEO AWARDS
April 12th will be the last day to submit to the Hometown Video Awards. All community access producers are encouraged to submit any show that was produced between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010. Belmont Media Center is willing to pay for half of the $40 entry fee. If you are interested in submitting a show produced at Belmont Media Center, please submit to us a copy of your program, $20.00 for the entry fee of each program entered, and a printed version of the online application. FIELD PRODUCTION CLASS
This class will introduce you to the Mini DV camcorders BMC has to offer. The first session will introduce the equipment, with a follow up session where students bring in their own work to discuss technique. Topics will include: site evaluation, tripod use, hand-held camera techniques, shot composition, camera movement, audio and lighting.
April 16th (Saturday), 10:00am - 2:00pm
Class fee: $25 for BMC members/$45 for non-members

PUBLIC SCIENCE  - MONDAY, APRIL 11th
Yvonne Stapp’s "Public Science" is taping in the BMC studio on Monday, April 11th at 6:30pm. Sheldon Krimsky, PhD, Professor of Urban & Environmental Policy & Planning at Tufts will be giving a presentation entitled, "What’s Your DNA Doing on a Federal Database." BOSTON INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
BMC’s Program Director Julie DeStefano is showing her short film "The Time is Now" at the Boston International Film Festival. It is a 15-minute short about an aspiring writer who has to make an important decision about her current relationship. It will be playing in Session 12 on Sunday, April 17th from 8:00 – 9:45pm. GALLERY AT BMC
BMC will be exhibiting the next art exhibition from April 19th - May 20th. We will be showing the work of Warren Croce, a Belmont artist who has drawn over a 100 faces. There will be a public reception on Friday, April 22nd, from 6:00 - 8:00pm at BMC. Come meet the artist and view his artwork.
