Unraveling the Secrets of Viruses

with John Connor, PhD, Assistant Professor of Microbiology, Boston University School of Medicine

HIV, hemorrhagic fever, Ebola: Viruses can be deadly, and many that used to be geographically isolated are spreading quickly in our increasingly global community. Although genetically much simpler than the organisms they infect, viruses are amazingly adaptable and resistant. John Connor's lab at the Boston University Medical School unravels the secrets of viruses in order to apply that knowledge to the development of effective medications and vaccines. This is your chance to hear about one of the most challenging fields in modern science.
