BHS Sports - Volunteer this Wednesday for the Belmont High School Girls Field Hockey game. Belmont will be playing against Wakefield. The game will take place at 6:00 p.m. on October 8th at Harris Field. Crew call will be at 5:30 p.m. Camera operators and commentators are needed. "The Life and Poetry of Avrom Sutzkever," a lecture by Geoffrey Brahmer - We are looking for volunteers for the next lecture taping by Geoffrey Brahmer. Brahmer will be presenting "The Life and Poetry of Avrom Sutzkever." Sutzkever is a poet and a survivor of the Vilna Ghetto. His poems illuminate the experience of living and dying in the holocaust. His post-war poems depict his journey as a living witness, coming to grips with his memories and the meaning of the Holocaust in his own life, as well as in every generation. The presentation, filmed in front of a live studio audience, will include readings of Sutzkever’s poems by members of the community. This presentation will take place at Belmont Media Center’s Studio A on Wednesday, October 22nd from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Crew call will be at 6:00 p.m. We are looking for camera operators, a director and audio person. Spelling Bee - The Foundation for Belmont Education’s Annual Youth Spelling Bee is less than a month away! Every year, BMC provides video coverage of the Spelling Bee, which airs live on channels 8 (Comcast) and 28 (Verizon). We are looking for volunteer camera operators to help us cover this live event. The Spelling Bee will take place at the Belmont High School Auditorium on Saturday, November 1st at 3:00 p.m. There will be two volunteer shifts. The first shift will take place from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. The second shift will take place from 6:00 p.m. till the end of the Spelling Bee (possibly around 9:00 p.m.).
