Classes at BMC

BMC Membership Information



By becoming a member of BMC, you can take an active role in creating and shaping the only true local micro-media outlet in Belmont.

Most BMC programs are produced by and for the residents, organizations, and institutions of Belmont and primarily by volunteers.

As a BMC member: you can take a variety of media  training classes at the BMC Studio in Belmont, including:

  • Basic Video / Basic Editing
  • Advanced Field Camera Techniques
  • Editing with iMovie
  • Editing with Final Cut Pro
  • Studio & Field Lighting Techniques
  • Using the TriCaster "studio-in-a box"
  • Producers Workshop/Seminar
In addition, BMC members may take media education classes at nearby Cambridge Community TV, including:

BMC Membership
In order to become a member of BMC, a person or organization must provide proof of Belmont residency or corporate or organization address in Belmont or valid Student ID from an accredited educational institution located in Belmont.

Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of payment of the membership fees and are renewed annually.

Members maytake classes after attending an Orientation to Community Media

Members may check out equipment and use BMC editing facilites and other equipment upon completion of certification classes.

Categories of Membership

Student/Senior:  Student Membership is available to any currently registered student at an accredited educational institution in Belmont. Senior Members are age 65 or older.

Family: up to four persons living in the same household, who apply for membership together. Family members have all the privileges of individual membership, except only one vote can be exercised for each family membership.

Non-profit Organization: are any firms, corporations, organizations, institutions, City Departments, public schools or other entities recognized as non-profit, tax-exempt by the IRS. Groups joining BMC under non-profit membership shall have all the privileges of Individual Membership, except that only one vote may be exercised per Non-profit Membership.

Business Membership: shall be available for any Belmont-based, for-profit firms, corporations, organizations, institutions or other entities. Businesses joining BMC under Business Membership shall have all the privileges of Individual Membership, except that only one vote may be exercised per Business Membership. Business Members are eligible to receive training for up to four people per membership year.
