Color and Hope: The Obstinate Journey
Emilie Errie
Artist Statement:
My fascination with the beauty of the human form inspires me in the representation of ideas through storytelling. I strive to convey the complexity of the shared human experience with symbolism and the selective use of color. Growing up in Haiti provided me with a rich cultural background that is influenced by my
appreciation for American culture. The need to explore my identity leads to the presence of universal concepts in my art. In the series “Too Much TV,” the viewer gets to discover the
intimate side of my relationship with television. It is a mix of excess and hope with room for the imagination.
