Artist Statement:
Elements of landscape and environment are the basis of my colorwork. I began painting 22" x 30" watercolors forty years ago, when I came to the US. The watercolors are done on wet paint, painted directly on wet paper. I use a large Japanese brush.
Me and my memories interact with colors. Christine Temin of the Globe wrote in 1985, "abstract moods." I have concepts and strict rules that I keep developing. There are layers of paint in my watercolors. Sometimes, there is watercolor grafitti or sometimes heavy lumps. I paint places. There is mood, character. There is a relationship between background and inner sense.
