Belmont Police Log, Nov. 7-13: Stolen packages, hit and runs, pedestrian struck and more

The following are excerpts from the Belmont Police log as made available by the Belmont Police Department. The log is public and available for review. All persons are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
Friday, Nov. 7
11:03 p.m.: Man arrested on a warrant and issued citation for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent arrest) and speeding.
Saturday, Nov. 8
9:50 a.m.: A Belmont man reported fraud. He believed he was buying two tickets to the Steve Martin and Martin Short show at the Wang theatre in April. He spent $1,131.50. He received two emails regarding the transaction. The first email informed him of the transaction and the second stated he would receive an additional email once the seller transferred the tickets to him. He still has not received any emails about the transfer on Nov. 7th. He attempted to contact an agent via the website. He found the buttons on the website did not direct anywhere. He contacted his credit card company, and they informed him that because the transaction took place in April, they were unable to refund his money. The fake ticket website was ticketscenter.com. The real ticket website was ticketcenter.com.
1:07 p.m.: Motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Brighton and Hittinger Streets involving a pedestrian. A 2017 Ford Focus struck a female. The pedestrian had pain on the right side of her lower extremities. The woman and the family she were with were in the designated crosswalk crossing Hittinger when she was struck. The driver said he was planning to turn right onto Hittinger. He saw two children exiting the crosswalk but did not see the woman. The woman was transported to Mount Auburn Hospital
3:36 p.m.: Hit and run reported in the McLean Hospital parking lot. A black Toyota parked in the lot overnight had damage to its left side and left mirror.
5:20 p.m.: A Statler Road resident reported a stolen sawhorse that was painted orange. It was placed in front of the home while children were playing on the street. It is valued at $30.
7:46 p.m.: A Trapelo Road resident reported harassment from her upstairs neighbor. She believes the neighbor purposely blocked a surveillance camera she has on the front porch. There have been incidents in the past and she wants this one documented.
Sunday, Nov. 9
2 p.m.: Neighbor dispute on Grant Avenue. This is an ongoing issue of harassment and trespassing by one neighbor to another. There have been eight previous reports at the same address. Surveillance camera footage shows one neighbor looking at the other neighbor’s backyard. The footage also shows the neighbor jabbing a stick through the other neighbor’s fence causing a hole. The reporting party recently paid approximately $4,800 for a new fence to be installed to prevent issues with the neighbor. Her son plays in the yard, and she is concerned for his safety. An application for a criminal complaint is being sought for vandalizing property.
Monday, Nov. 10
3:47 p.m.: Hit and run on Common Street. A van with the letters, “Alma” written on the sides struck the rear bumper of another vehicle at the intersection of Common Street and Trapelo Road. The female driver pulled over, assuming the van would as well, but the van continued heading northbound on Common Street.
5:53 p.m.: A Philip Road resident reported he was notified by UPS that three iPhone 17’s was signed for and delivered for him. However, he did not receive the iPhones. The total value of the missing iPhone 17’s is approximately $3,300. Note: There is a scam going on with Apple products where people are able to obtain delivery information for iPhones and are contacting delivery services to request the driver to meet them on a street near the delivery address, but not at the delivery address. The individuals are then required to provide an identification to the UPS driver and have been reportedly showing a photo on their phone of an ID with the name and address of the package recipient, but an altered photo that is of the scammer.
Tuesday, Nov. 11
5:08 p.m.: Stolen package reported by a Hill Road apartment resident. The package was delivered from Amazon. The delivery confirmation did not provide an exact time of delivery. When he returned home, the package was not in the lobby of his apartment building on Hill Road. The package contained a Lego train set valued at $137.59. This has happened to him with different packages approximately six times in the past few years.
Thursday, Nov. 13
2:12 p.m.: Hit and run at the intersection of Harriet Avenue and Belmont Street. The vehicle was parked on the corner of Harriet Avenue and Belmont Street at 8:30 a.m. When the owner returned at 2:05 p.m., she discovered the left side mirror was damaged. A nearby resident with a security camera will be checking the footage to see if the accident was caught on camera.
Belmont Police responded to three mental health and two domestic calls, Nov 7-13, 2025.
