Democracy Now! just returned from Park City, Utah, where we covered the Sundance Film Festival’s documentary track for the third year in a row. While there we spoke with Cara Mertes, who oversees the Sundance Institute’s Documentary Film Program and Fund.

In this fast-paced challenge class, small crews of kids learn how to structure a short movie, then write a script, shoot, act, direct and finally edit the shots into a finished movie for screening all in the course of one fun day.

One of BMC's most popular classes for youths of all ages, "Make a Movie in One Day" classes are usually offered during school vacations and in the summer.

Pizza is ordered for lunch, kids should bring drinks.
